“Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action.” ~ B.K.S. Iyengar
Founder of Iyengar Yoga Source
Carolyn studied numerous times on monthly sabbaticals with Yoga Master B.K.S. Iyengar at his Institute in India. She was assessed by him and received Senior Level III Certification from him directly in 2010.
Carolyn’s faith and insight in the practice and the art of teaching offers one steady guidance on the yoga path. Through her compassionate teaching of over 30 years, one experiences the artistry of sequencing, carrying one to new realms, all the while providing the practical living philosophy of yoga.
A leader in the community, Carolyn has been training yoga teachers throughout the West since 1997 and serves as an assessor for IYNAUS. She is an advisory board member of the B.K.S. Iyengar Yoga Complementary Therapy and Research Group.
She is the Mentor in the Teacher Training Program at the Center. One of the few to conduct Iyengar Yoga Therapeutic classes, she provides mentorship and training in this field of yoga, as well.
Yoga captured Carolyn in 1990, when she started her studies at the Centre de Yoga Iyengar de Paris, France, under the guidance of Faeq and Corine Biria. After a 5-year tenure there, Carolyn moved back to San Diego, where she was a team player in directing the Iyengar Yoga Center of La Mesa. With Mr. Iyengar’s blessings, Carolyn opened the Iyengar Yoga Center of Encinitas, in 2003. In 2020 the Center moved to San Diego. Now at the Iyengar Yoga Source one has accessibility to the art, science and philosophy of Yoga in a Center of learning as well as connecting to a community.
